Shooting for Vivid
I woke up at 4am with a start. It must have been a bad dream but I didn’t remember it. I also couldn’t get back to sleep and that kinda pissed me off. Its going to be a long day and I slept about 3 hours, great! I also realized where I was and groaned. LA and not home. No dogs to cuddle in the morning and I had forgotten to buy coffee the night before. Damn me. I laid there and read Dean Koontz for about a half an hour then got up and wandered around looking at the different rooms and visualizing what I wanted to do with each room. After making a few mental lists I decided I should just shower and go get some coffee before I started to growl. After my shower I realized that my nail polish was flaking off a little. I tend to wash my hands pretty often so I wasn’t that surprised but it still sucks. I got my stuff together for the shoot and put it in the car and headed off to find some food and much needed caffeine. Mcpukes it was and the coffee was insane strong. Along with the sinus medicine I took earlier that morning, I was glad that I was eating with it. By the time I got to the set I was a spazz, and about 20 minutes early. I hate when I’m too early, it freaks people out and they tend to get nervous, like I’m going to leave if I don’t get enough attention. I walked in and the make-up artist was already there as well, bonus. I drank the rest of my coffee and talked it up with the owner of the location. I had shot there awhile back for barefootmaniacs.com and the studio has changed a lot. The guy said he had a second studio as well. I asked what he rents them out for and he promptly told me that it was $1,200 a day. Good ‘ol LA. Trastan arrived and we hugged. She hasn’t changed a bit. I got into make-up and surprisingly the make-up artist was really sweet. She was from Hungary and didn’t like LA. We got along and I learned that she was going to drive across country to CT with her boyfriend to see the country as well as move there. After the make-up was all done I filled out paperwork and picked out clothes for pretty girl shots. The pretty girl shots were softcore and pretty fun. One of my fave photographers shot them. He recently moved to New Mexico and he hates LA too. There is a trend. He’s now doing mostly bridal and family photography. I’m really happy for him. He comes back to LA about once a month to shoot for a few of his favorite clients. Donna arrived and we said our hello’s. She asked me if I wanted to shoot for Kink.com again and that all the webmasters were still interested in shooting me. I’m still on the fence about it. It’s not that I don’t like to shoot for them and all its just that I’d rather work for myself. I guess a 3 day stint wouldn’t be a bad thing but I’m really not sure if I want to start the whole traveling thing again. It seems I have to be all or nothing. Its hard to want to travel when I can stay home and make the same money as well. Its not all about money though. It sucks to be away for any length of time past 3 days. I’ll think about it some more on the way back to Las Vegas tomorrow. Everyone was ready and then all of the sudden . . . Read the rest of this blog entry here!
