We finally arrived. Let me back up. We left about 8 in the morning and drove until we hit Texas. We were halfway there and decided on whether to stay the night in a hotel or drive through. We said” fuck it” and drove the rest of the way on caffeine pills and Pepsi. Did you know id actually snows in northern Phoenix? That sucked driving through but we made it. And in true style of the women in my family I got lost shortly after I was in California. We had been driving for about 35 hours with short breaks for food and to rest our tired butts.
Here are some pics from the trip. Most of the way was flat so we took pics of the dogs instead.
I found my way back and even found my apartment complex. I got the keys from the mailbox and we went in. I hadn’t seen my actual apartment and I was amazed at how big it actually was. There wasn’t any furniture in it yet. We had with us what would fit in the car and that’s it. A few blankets, fold up chairs and of course, the little hellions.
We rested awhile and the dogs got acquainted and marked a few spots to claim the place as their own. I went to get some blankets out of the car and came back with arm-fulls of stuff because I didn’t want to make a lot of trips. Mom and I decided to go get burger king and rest for the night. We didn’t even have a TV…until the next day.
I called all the utility companies from my cell phone and got everything turned on in my name. It only took a couple hours. California is pretty easy that way. We then went to the one place everyone should go to when they move with nothing. Costco! I love this place but I had to constantly remind myself that I didn’t have a fridge yet. I did however have a microwave. So I got a lot of popcorn and things like that. We still had to eat out for awhile but I did get a TV. Really, I bought too much stuff. I cannot tell you how sorry we looked trying to fit a tv, sweeper, pots and pans plus a few other things in my car. I eventually got it all in the and had to squish my mom in the back between the door and a lot of boxes. I felt so bad but we laugh about it now.
We found a furniture store and I shocked my mom when I bought light wood and a purple couch, loveseat. That’s right, Purple. Its dark purple but a happy color! I was sick of the dark blue, brown and green, I was happy now so I wanted pleasant colors around me. My living room is a mix of rainbow colors with modern furniture but I still have that little TV.
This was the month I started doing Boy/Girl scenes! One of my first scenes was for a Michael Ninn movie and he even let me have some pics form the shoot! This is my favorite shot.A lot different than the young girl stuff huh?
